The most famous monument, without doubt, is the Basilica de la Sagrada Familia, designed by the architect Antonio Gaudi.  Amongst other works of his it is worth mentioning the Parque Güell, the Casa Batlló and La Pedrera. The Gothic Quarter, which is next to Las Ramblas, is the oldest part of the city. 

The Jewish Quarter is the best preserved in Catalonia where the Jews lived for six hundred years. From the old Carolingian walls you can see the city and its surroundings. The Cathedral which is situated on the highest point of the city has the widest Gothic nave in the world.

It is a costal town situated 6 km. away from Calonge. Its main income is tourism since it offers some very beautiful beaches. It has an important commercial and fishing port and is famous for its prawn.  At the fishing port it is interesting to visit the fish market where the local fishermen's fish is auctioned every afternoon during the week.

In the old theatre of Figueres, the city where the famous painter Salvador Dalí was born, is the Teatro-Museo Dalí dedicated entirely to the painter. Dalí was born in Figueres on 11th. May 1904 and died on 23rd. January 1989.

The Lake  of Banyoles is the largest natural lake in the Iberic Peninsular. Its surface is 1 square km., its perimeter is 8 km. and it is between 6 and 62 m. deep.

The Illes Medes are made up of seven islets situated 900 m. from Estartit beach. They are famous for the richness of their sea bed and the wildlife on land is also very prominent.

The monestery of Sant Pere de Rodes, an old Benedictine abbey, is situated in the vicinity of Port de la Selva. The temple is considered as an exceptional masterpiece and from its privileged position you can contemplate the coast.

The village of Ullestret is the most important Iberic city in Catalonia. It is a pre-roman city and covers an area of 11 hectares.

The town of La Bisbal is situated 17 km. inland from Calonge. It is a place with a long-standing ceramic tradition and today it is one of the most important ceramic centers in Catalonia.

Castellfollit de la Roca is a town and municipality of the Garrotxa region at the gates of the Natural Park of the Volcanic Zone of La Garrotxa and stands on a spectacular basaltic cliff 50 meters high and almost  one kilometer long limited by the river Fluvià.

The narrow streets of the village lead to the old church of Sant Salvador, at the end of the cliff, where there is a viewpoint with exceptional views.

Playa de Aro offers us one of the longest sandy beaches and one of the few beaches free of cars on the Costa Brava. The main beach covers an area of 2 km. from Cavall Bernat to the Nautical Club, one of the largest leisure ports on the Costa Brava.

The village streets form a great leisure center for going out, eating out, shopping and taking a walk during the day or at night.

Cadaqués is one of the most beautiful villages in Catalunya.  It is situated in the Parc Natural de Cap de Creus. Its white houses, narrow stone streets with their plants and flowers stand out in particular. In Portlligat you can visit the House-Museum of Savador Dalí, where he lived and worked from 1930 until the death of his wife, Gala, in 1982.
